Super Furry Animals and Low and set to headline a new music and arts festival in London this summer. Get ready for Caught By The River Thames.
There are few places in London more exquisite to host a festival than Fulham Palace and following in the footsteps of Nile Rodgers, who is set to host FOLD festival there in June, will be Caught By The River Thames on 6-7 August.
Run by the folks behind the website Caught by the River (who have promoted stages at Port Elliot, Festival No 6, and Field Day) and visionary promoters Robomagic, they've stiched together a sterling line up.
The oportunity to attend a festival set in the lush green grass surrounding Fulham Palace, which is situated just yards from one of the most open and tranquil parts of the River Thames, at the height of summer can not be missed. The event looks set to be a high point in London's festival season.
Welsh rockers Super Furry Animals and legendary Minnesota trio Low are the biggest pull but take a closer look at the line up and you'll discover more marvelous acts.
Stand outs for us include Gwenno whose incredible debut album, Y Dydd Olaf, was included in out albums of the 2015. There's also Dead Oceans signee Ryley Walker who is one of the best folk artists around at the moment as he channels the jaunty off-kilter style associated with Nick Drake.
Moreover, there's appearances from Beth Orton, Mulatu Astatke, the Sun Ra Arkestra, BE performing the London premiere of the album ONE, Laura Cannell, Darren Hayman (playing songs from his ‘Thankful Villages’ project), Jonny Trunk, and more. There will also be a series of talks and readings, special beers, a DJ set from Heavenly Records, and amazing food from around the world.
