Ellie Goulding has opened up about her own battles with anxiety and panic attacks, revealing that she was at one point unable to leave the house.
The 'Army' star is currently in the midst of a huge UK tour to promote her massive third album, Delirium - and in a frank interview with Canadian magazine Flare, spoke out about her own mental health, and the struggles she faced while trying to deal with fame.
"I was skeptical at first because I’d never had therapy, but not being able to leave the house was so debilitating," she said. "And this was when my career was really taking off.
"My surroundings would trigger a panic attack, so I couldn’t go to the studio unless I was lying down in the car with a pillow over my face. I used to beat myself up about it."
Ellie continued: "There were a couple of times after I released Delirium when I was doing promo and thought, Oh god, it’s coming back, it’s coming back, but it didn’t.
"I think my body has become quite good at controlling anxiety."
Goulding recently announced a hiatus from music, after splitting from her boyfriend Dougie Poynter. She also called out Noel Gallagher as 'a liar', after he confessed that he loved her music.
