Damon Albarn lamented the result of the EU referendum at Glastonbury this morning, saying, “Democracy has failed us.”

The Blur frontman performed a solo set to open the Pyramid Stage today, and took the chance to rail against the news that the UK will leave the European Union. "I have a very heavy heart today,” he told the crowd, “because to my mind, democracy has failed us. Democracy has failed us because we were ill-informed.”

He added, ”And I just want all of you to know, that when we leave here, we can change that decision. It is possible,” - though he failed to explain how.

Meanwhile. tonight sees Muse take to the main stage to headline, alongside performances from Disclosure, Foals, Sigur Ros and future Prime Minister Stormzy.
