Nouvelle Vague have released the video to a new, stripped back version of 'Ever Fallen In Love (Unlocked Destination)' featuring a sitar. You can watch the video for it first on Gigwise below.
The French band have made a name for themselves from doing bossa nova covers of well-known songs are back with a brand new EP reworked classics named Athol Brose. The new version of 'Ever Fallen I Love' keeps a pretty similar style to the album verison they put out in 2006, but it's even mellower, and more seductive.
The minimalist percussion, guitars, and sitar blend sweetly in tandem with the effortlessly beautiful, understated vocals. The video shows everyone in the band relaxing out in a sunny garden with their instruments and their cat - having the best time. It's shot with the perfect colour grading and will put you in a mood to have a garden party yourself.
The EP, which was out earlier this month, also includes a cover of two other British classics: a haunting remake of their cover of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', and Cocteau Twins' 'Athol Brose'. There's also an original cut in there.
Meanwhile, the band are set to release their new album on 4 November. They've teased us with the artwork, which you can see below, but are keeping the audio to themselves for now.
The band will be coming to the UK and Ireland for the below shows to support the new album.
5 Nov - Kentish Town Forum, London
16 Nov - Dublin, EI / Vicar Street
