Gorillaz look like they're back in business

'The gang are back'

Gorillaz reform 2016 new album Damon Albarn Noodles Plastic Beach Photo:

Gorillaz look like they're back in the game after a series of messages on Facebook, they finally wrote one this evening at 9pm GMT (21/9) saying "The gang is back."

Along with that post they put a video of 'DARE'. After a years silence the band began laying hints that they would get back together including a timeline of their history, joining Instagram, and links to a few tracks.

Damon Albarn told Rolling Stone last year that he wants to bring Gorillaz back with a new album for 2016 and it look like he's living up to his promise.

Although the album may not come quite so soon (if this account activity really is the reformation) as collaborator and comic book artist Jamie Hewlett, said the record won't be out until next year.

Hewlett provided the update to Gorillaz fan page Gorillaz NorthAmerica, stating that the "really fuckin special" album "can't be rushed".

Gorillaz last played together in 2010 for their Plastic Beach tour, which was absolutely incredible Their Glastonbury headline performance will go down in history as a victorious gig.

Since then, Blur have done a fair bit, Damon Albarn has been taking his Africa Express show around the festival circuit, and all the musicians invovled have generally been keeping busy. But the beauty of Damon Albarn having multiple projects is that whenever one needs time to disappear, he can turn his hand to another.

Thankfully, it's Gorillaz' turn (fingers crossed).
