Last night Trent Reznor replied to an Instagram account simply saying, "2016 is not over yet".
Reznor is right, it isn't over yet. But that's not the point that he was making, of course. In a tweet late last year (2015), Reznor promised there would be new music from the band this year.
Yet, all that's been announced, are two film scores, for both Leonardo Di Caprio's much anticipated environmental film, Between The Floods and Patriot's Day, and Peter Berg's film about the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombings.
The last Nine Inch Nails album came in the form of 2013's, Hesitation Marks. the album was supported by a large world tour much to the jubilation of the band's cult following.
Summer of this year saw Reznor register a new song called, 'Dive and Slam', which was set to be released on the 16 September.
The song was initially attributed to Nine Inch Nails, but as the information was pulled later on, Reznor disputed that claim. The song is still yet to see light of day.
It would appear though that fans of Nine Inch Nails can rest assured that new music is iminent at some point.
