David Guetta and Run DMC have been announced as co-headliners for Isle of Wight Festival 2017.

The superstar DJ and hip-hop legends will join forces to close Friday night of next year's event - with other new additions to the line up including George Ezra, Rag 'n' Bone Man, Bastille and Jack Savoretti.

"The Isle of Wight Festival has always been known for its variety in music and this year is no different" Festival organiser John Giddings said of the latest booking. "To have the world’s first and most inspiring hip hop group headlining alongside one of the world's biggest electronic DJ’s is fantastic."

"Again there’s something for everyone. I know the crowds at the festival are going wild for all the acts, not just the headliners."

In what's shaping-up to be one of the festival's most eclectic lineup's yet, Guetta and Run DMC will join previously announced headliners Arcade Fire and Rod Stewart - who top the bill on Saturday and Sunday night of the event.

Paris-born DJ and producer Guetta has sold a massive 9 million albums worldwide making him one of the biggest names in dance, while Run DMC - who formed way back in 1981 - are best known for tracks 'Tricky' and 'It's Like That' - which was remixed and became a number 1 smash in the UK.

2016 will mark Isle of Wight Festival's 16th event since relaunching in 2002. The festival boasts a rich history of colossal acts such as The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Paul McCartney and Coldplay.

Isle of Wight Festival takes place from 8 - 11 June at Seaclose Park, Newport.
