A bizzare mash-up of Foo Fighters' hit 'The Pretender' and 'Super Freak' by Rick James has been posted by the US rockers, giving an enthusiastic 'Fuck yes' to the re-working. Listen below.

The edit - labelled as 'The Freaktender' - merges Rick James' vocals over the instrumentation from the 2007 Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace hit, with a bit of The Beach Boys' 'Help Me Rhonda' thrown into the mix.

Originally uploaded to YouTube, we're sure the person behind the track - credited to a DJ Cummberbund - is thrilled to have received such response from Dave and co. along with their 2.5 million Twitter followers.

Meanwhile, Foo Fighters have been using social media to announce upcoming 2017 tour dates, with cryptic map images of where shows will be taking place. Summer 2017 shows include performances at Rock Wercheter and NOS Alive Festivals. There are still rumours circulating as to whether the band will finally make it to Worthy Farm, as they were forced to cancel their Glastonbury headline performance in 2015.

Foo Fighters will play the following. Check here for more ticket information

16-18 June – Secret Solstice Festival: Iceland
19 June - Rock The Beach, Finland
29 June – Open’er Festival: Gdynia, Poland
30 June – Roskilde Festival: Roskilde, Denmark

6 July – Mad Cool Festival: Madrid, Spain
7 July – NOS Alive: Castro Daire, Portugal
