Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have been announced as headliners for Hyde Park's British Summer Time Festival in London's Hyde Park. Support will come from Fleetwood Mac icon Stevie Nicks and The Lumineers.

The band will join previously announced acts such as Justin Bieber, Green Day, Phil Collins and Kings of Leon at the park. Tickets for The Heartbreakers show will go on sale this Friday (16 December).

The band have been celebrating the 40th anniversary of their self-titled debut record, and will continue marking the milestone next year - with the BST show marking just the second time The Heartbreakers will have visited the UK in 18 years. The band previously played to UK audiences back in 2012, with shows including an Isle of Wight Festival appearance and two sold-out Royal Albert Hall shows.

Jim King, SVP of promoter AEG Live, said: “Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park prides itself on delivering something magical and unique every year and Sunday July 9 is truly a ‘one night only’ experience direct from the music gods. Tom Petty’s UK fans will feel blessed to see him and the Heartbreakers in such a rare appearance in this country. Celebrating their 40th anniversary with them is their friend and true icon Stevie Nicks. Music does not get better than this

Meanwhile, the band have also announced a North American leg of 40th anniversary, kicking-off in April in Oklahoma City.
