In a surprise Christmas chimney drop, Chance the Rapper and Jeremih have released a festive mixtape. Merry Christmas Little Mama is now available for those Soundcloud and Spotify stockings that Santa deals in these days.
Featuring a diverse collection of Christmas themes from 'I'm Your Santa' to 'I Shoulda Left You' and 'The Tragedy', perhaps it is 'Chi Town Christmas' that best embodies the release as a whole. According to Chance’s Soundcloud, the project is “For Chicago.”
The nine track mixtape comes soon after Chance’s Christmas themed Saturday Night Live performance and features fellow Chicagoans Hannibal Buress, Noname, and Lud Foe. It is a tribute to the season, the city, and, of course, the Rapper's endlessly spontaneous talent.
Even if, on 'All the Way', he feels the pressure of "Being obligated to buy shit for people at a certain time in the year/I buy Christmas gifts, but just, just 'cause you're supposed to", his is gift we can at least all enjoy.
