Clean Bandit are currently in the lead to snag the Christmas number one position in the UK, according to yesterday's chart update.

The pop trio are in pole position with their Sean Paul and Anne-Marie-featuring single 'Rockabye', which has stayed in the charts for nine weeks following its release in October.

Following closely behind in the race, BRIT critics choice winner Rag 'n' Bone Man sits in the number two position - just 4000 sales behind with his single 'Human' - while Little Mix's 'Touch' is in at number three.

Meanwhile, Inspiral Carpets single 'Saturn 5' from 1994 has entered the festive chart at number 20, following the death of drummer Craig Gill, and fans' subsequent campaign to get the band to Christmas number one in tribute.

If the current positions remain, it will be the first time since 2003 that the Christmas top spot has gone to someone other than an X Factor winner, charity single, or 'stunt' and protest record.

The official UK Christmas chart will be revealed by Greg James on BBC Radio 1 at 4pm this Friday (23 December).
