Suede guitarist Bernard Butler will play an exclusive London show in March accompanying veteran San Francisco singer/songwriter Mark Eitzel.
According to Mark Eitzel’s Facebook page, Butler will join be joining his band at the Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush, West London, on March 7. Although Eitzel’s band will be playing across the UK, Europe and America this Spring, the London show will be the only Uk date to feature Butler.
The Suede guitarist and Eitzel, the former singer with US alt rock pioneers American Music Club, has been working closely together on the latter’s new album ‘Hey Mr Ferryman’. Butler co-wrote, produced and helped to record the album in London in the early part of 2016. Sources who have heard the album indicate that Bernard has added lush strings and sumptuous instrumentation to augment Eitzel’s trademark stripped down sound.
The album is set for release on January 27 on the Decor label , and the pair recently shared one track from the session titled ‘No Answer’ via YouTube.
