Kelis has debuted the video for latest awesome single 'Jerk Ribs'. Check it out below.
The video, for the track taken from upcoming album Food, has been premiered by TIME magazine and sees the 'Milkshake' star looking pretty damn cool at different photo shoots before performing at a garden party.
"This song is the cornerstone of my album,” Kelis told TIME. "So I wanted the video to look like my life, my love - back to the beginning."
Kelis recently unveiled the artwork and tracklisting to FOOD, which, unsurprisingly, seems to be culinary-themed, featuring tracks such as 'Biscuits 'N Gravy', 'Cobbler' and 'Breakfast'. The record, Kelis' sixth, is produced by Dave Sitek, of TV On The Radio fame.
The singer told HipHollywood.com FOOD will be very different to her previous effort, 2010's electronic Flesh Tone. "It's full band," she said. "It's got a horn section, strings and an orchestra - it's very dramatic...I'm really excited about it. I don't rush to put albums out, so when I do I like to wallow in them a bit."
FOOD will be released April 21. Meanwhile, Kelis is lined up to perform at this year's BBC 6 Music Festival and The Great Escape. For more information visit Gigwise gig tickets.
