Last year's X factor winner Sam Bailey has kept Wilko Johnson and George Michael from the top spot, topping the charts with her new album The Power of Love.
Bailey has been on a rather good run, first scoring the Christmas No.1 with her cover of Demi Lovato's 'Skyscraper' and now leading the album charts with her debut. She is the first X Factor winner to score the top spot since the now defunct Alexandra Burke in 2009.
In additionally perplexing and frankly worrying news, Bailey also managed to drastically outsell offerings from Bruce Springsteen and Pharrell Williams. Her album has sold 73,000 copies during the first week on sale, making it the fastest selling album of 2014 so far.
