US country singer Garth Brooks has cancelled all five of his upcoming Dublin gigs after failing to secure the venue for more than three nights.
The gigs, which were due to take place later this month, were scheduled for Dublin's Croke Park. However, Dublin City Council had only granted permission to stage three of the five planned concerts at the venue.

Around 400,000 fans had booked tickets for the sold-out gigs, and Aiken Promotions have spoken of their "deep regret" over the shows' cancellations. The company said it had "exhausted all avenues" in terms of staging the gigs at Croke Park.
Brooks, who has not played in Dublin in 17 years, recently said that Ireland was his favourite place in which to sing.
Details of refunds for those who bought tickets to the shows will be announced later today (9 July).
