Odd Future frontman Tyler, The Creator has compared receiving the new U2 album to contracting a sexually transmitted disease.
Tweeting about the album on Friday, the rapper said: “Get off my fucking phone. You couldn’t come up with an actual marketing idea? Fuck @U2 I don’t want you. I didn’t ask for you, I’m mad.”
Elaborating on how Songs Of Innocence was automatically uploaded onto 500 million account holders’ iTunes on Tuesday, Tyler The Creator went on to say: “I did not you were on my phone. Its legit like waking up with a pimple or like a here I did know you were on my phone what the fuck.”
But the Californian artist came appeared to warm to the idea later adding: “Wow it kinda sick that they are on people’s phone out of nowhere….Hmm….I kinda like the idea kinda…… Fuck Bono.”

Tyler, The Creator has not been the only artist to voice his opinions about ‘Songs of Innocence’. Earlier this week, Mercury Prize Nominees Bombay Bicycle Club told NME: “I thought the move was quite invasive. A lot of people are up in arms because they don’t like U2. I don’t have an opinion on the band itself, but I do think the method is a little bit in your face.”
