Robert Plant reveals effort to re-unite Led Zeppelin as an acoustic outfit

Robert Plant has revealed that he once suggested reuniting Led Zeppelin but as an acoustic project.

In a recent interview with Uncut, Plant claims that Page rejected a recent proposal to record new, unplugged music.

"A couple of years ago, I said, 'If you've got anything acoustic, let me know. I'll give it a whirl," said Plant. "It was hands across the water [But Jimmy] just walked away."

Plant's proposal to make unplugged music will not come as a huge shock to fans, as it is very reflective of the kind of music he has recently made.

Even if Led Zeppelin were to reconcile and reunite, Plant does not believe that the band are capable of writing a modern classic, saying: "We couldn't do anything proper. The weight of expectation is too great."

Fans of the classic rock group will also be disappointed to hear that although there is talk of a new tour, Plant and Page do not appear to agree on much regarding this. Plant said of the tour: "I don't know what [Jimmy's] trying to do. I feel slightly disappointed and baffled."

Since 1995, the surviving members of Led Zeppelin have only performed together once, at The O2 Arena in December 2007.

Led Zeppelin will be releasing a set of reissues in October, which will include an unreleased version of 'Stairway To Heaven'.
