Kathleen Hanna has further explained her desire to make an album with Miley Cyrus, after her tweet to the popstar caused a mixed reaction earlier in the week.
Hanna was a member of feminist punk band Bikini Kill, who are widely considered to be one of the pioneering bands of the riot grrrl movement, before fronting Le Tigre.

The dialogue between the two began a few weeks ago when Cyrus, who has described herself as "the world's biggest feminist", posted two photos of Hanna.
In response to Cyrus's admiration, Hanna tweeted to say she had an idea for an album that only Cyrus is "daring enough" to make.
Hey @MileyCyrus so sweet you posted pics of me...have an idea for an album that only you are daring enough to make .

In a new interview with Refinery 29, the singer said the idea came about after watching Cyrus' controversial VMA performance last year. "'What if she did a record like this? Like, what if she did a record like this?' We just came up with this crazy idea."
The singer continued: "And then, when she put my picture up, my bandmate Kenny [Mellman] sent it to me. I was like, 'This is kind of fate. I should write to her.' But, I didn't know anybody was going to actually read it."
Cyrus herself is yet to respond to Hanna's collaboration request.
