Ed Sheeran remains perched at the top of the UK album charts once again with his new album X.
He is closing the gap on Adele's 21, which remained at the No.1 spot for 11 consecutive weeks back in January 2011. Ed has now amassed eight weeks at the top, which could put him in line to pass the benchmark set by Adele's run.
Meanwhile, Sam Smith has climbed to the No.2 spot with In The Lonely Hour while Dolly Parton has dropped to No.3 with Blue Smoke. Gaslight anthem have reached No.4 with their latest offering Get Hurt and Britain Got Talent's Richard and Adam have landed at No.5 with At The Movies.

As for the singles chart, Nico and Vin's surprise hit, 'Am I Wrong' remains at No.1 for a second week. 'Rude' by Magic is at No.2, while 'Love Runs Out' by OneRepublic is at No.3, keeping the top of the charts frozen, meanwhile Kiesza's 'Giant In My Heart' debuts at No.4 and Ellas Henderson's 'Ghost' comes in at No.4.
