Sam Smith has claimed that he's recently started work on his second album following the release of his debut album In The Lonely Hour in May this year.
In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Smith said that he didn't want to wait around to get back in the studio after his debut release.
"I did my first writing session a few weeks ago," he said. "I feel like I've already got a possible song, which I love. I've got a title, which I think I love."
Smith added: "I think I will always be so scared on not doing this as a career, so the thought of just sitting back and enjoying the ride, and then late next year someone going, 'Right, now we need to do [a] second album,' and me not knowing what the f**k to do... I couldn't do that."

In regards to the theme of the album, Smith said: "I don't know what I want to talk about yet, y'know. I'm not in a relationship, but I'm dating. But I don't know if I want to pressure myself to get into a relationship to write an album, so there's loads of options."
Last week, Sam Smith told Gigwise "I've made the promise to myself that my music will be a documentary of my life, so whatever happens next, will be written about."
Sam Smith's new single 'I'm Not The Only One' is released on Monday 1 September
