Tragedy struck when three fans were left in need of medical attention after suffering 'serious side-effects' after taking a 'blue tablet' that was believed to be ecstasy at V Festival this weekend.
The bill, known as 'blue ghost', was ingested by festival-goers at the Staffordshire leg of the festival, with Police confirming that they seized a small batch of the drug on site.
"Emergency teams have treated people this evening who took a blue tablet they believed to be ecstasy at V Festival in Weston Park," Staffordshire Police told ITV News. "All had serious side-effects after taking the tablets and needed urgent medical treatment."
A V Festival spokesman added : "We take these reports seriously and will do everything in our power to support the police in their investigations to ensure the festival continues to be a safe environment for everyone."
The likes of Justin Timberlake, Elbow, Ella Eyre and many more all performed across the weekend.
