A volunteer-run campaign which works with bars, clubs and gig venues on how to deal with sexual harrassment is set to launch its campaign nationwide.
The Good Night Out initiative was launched in London in response to the "overwhelming amount of stories" about harrassment that women and LGBTQ people experience on nights out, including groping, leering, grabbing, homophobia and stalking.
"All too often," reads their website, "responses from staff and security fell way short of acceptable."
The campaign is now seeking to raise £5,000 via a Kickstarter campaign which will enable it to take its campaign to venues across the UK and Ireland. It makes a refreshing change from the endless campaigns which attempt to advise women how not to get assaulted.
A statement from the organisation said: "Good Night Out is about getting venues thinking harder about what they can do to make sure everyone's night is safe and fun, and how they can take responsibility for making sure that sleazy bum grabs have consequences."
Iggy Azalea recently revealed that she no longer crowd-surfs because "people try to finger me," and musicians such as Meredith Graves and Angel Haze have also spoken of being groped during gigs.
