After his comments regarding rape led him to delete his Twitter account yesterday, Cee-Lo Green has returned to Twitter to apologise for his remarks.

Last week, the musician was sentenced to three years of probation and 45 days of community service after pleading no contest to felony ecstasy possession. Green was accused of 'furnishing' ecstasy to a woman during a 2012 dinner in Los Angeles, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal

Green is said to have had sex with the woman after giving her the ecstasy, but has maintained that it was entirely consensual.

Then, as Billboard reports, Green then went on to define rape on Twitter. The following Tweets have since been deleted:

"People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"

"If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent,"

After a few vague attempts at apologies, the singer subsequently deleted his account. His hiatus didn't last long however - he's now returned to Twitter to offer a more explicit apology.

Cee-Lo Green's followup to his album The Lady Killer was set to be released this year but has been delayed for the forseeable future.
