LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy has created 400 hours worth of new music - each created from a different round of the US Tennis Open. Listen below.
The tracks, which were created using an algorithm capturing the rhythm of each game's volleys, serves etc, were live streamed on the US Open website.
The hundreds of recordings have now been uploaded onto SoundCloud, and each is named after the round of the US Open from which they were taken. Each track sounds somewhat akin to a vintage computer game soundtrack.

Although none of the tracks contain details of who was playing, some do include more detail descriptions, such as: "When a young player beats a top-seeded player, like in this match from August 25th, it's bound to make some noise. And in this case, that noise is glorious: a series of simple, almost sweet opening notes that slowly transform into unexpectedly intense, mature sounds. Beats bubble up from out of nowhere, swiftly take over and set the track in an uncompromising new direction."
Murphy has taken part in a number of ambitious projects over the years, including directing a short film, designing an actual sound system, and creating his own line of coffee. He plans to create music using the New York subway system, but this has not yet been approved by the MTA.
