Pink Floyd reveal details of Endless River album

Pink Floyd have revealed further details of their upcoming album, The Endless River, the band's first record in 20 years.

The legendary rock group told Uncut the album will feature "more atmospheric and digressive aspects of Pink Floyd and includes snippets of conversation".

Writing on their website: "The Endless River is a tribute to Rick Wright, whose keyboards are at the heart of the Pink Floyd sound. It is a mainly instrumental album with one song, ‘Louder Than Words’, (with new lyrics by Polly Samson), arranged across four sides and produced by David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Youth and Andy Jackson."

The band have also revealed details of the deluxe edition of The Endless River. The boxset includes a 24 page hardback book, postcards and 39 minutes of exclusive material. 

As Consequence Of Sound resports, rumours that the record will encompass some of Gilmour's material from the unreleased album 'The Big Spliff' were clarified as inaccurate but the album will feature original organ recordings from Richard Wright, taken from rehearsals dating back to 1969.

David Gilmour and Nick Mason started work on the record on 13 November 2013 and spent over 30 days recording drums and guitars. Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera has also been confirmed as being heavily involved in the album-making process.

Set for release on 10 November, the highly-anticpated album will be Pink Floyd's last ever record.
