The Charlatans have unveiled a new single, their first since the death of Jon Brookes, 'Talking in Tones'. Check it out below
The new track is the first song from the as-yet-untitled new album and is decribed by The Quietus as "strange, haunting pop incarnate".
The song combines jangling guitars with mournful vocals and ethereal undercurrent as well as featuring suberb organ work from Tony Rogers.

The new song is the first offering from the band since the passing of drummer Jon Brookes last year. Speaking to BBC 6 Music on how his death affected the album, Tim Burgess said "We all got in and wrote it together. We sat and faced each other and looked each other in the eye"
The Charlatans have also confirmed plans to play a one-off how at The Garage in Highbury, London, supported by Grumbling Fur. For tickets and more information click here.
