Noel Gallagher may be appearing on Channel 4's Gogglebox in a fundraiser for Stand Up To Cancer.
Although neither Gallagher's representatives or Channel 4 have confirmed the singer/songwriter will appear, it is widely rumoured that the Oasis mainstay will be appearing on a special addition of the programme, alongside the regulars (Sandy and Sandra, Leon and June, the Woerdenwebers and 'Silent' Jay). Other rumoured celebrity participants include supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
Mail Online report that the trio would be participating as part of Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer event on 17 October.
A source told the paper: "The sketch will help to raise money for charity and Kate is good friends with Noel and Naomi. When she knew she would have them by her side she did not hesitate to agree. Kate likes watching TV and is a fan of Googlebox, Bake Off and X Factor."
If for whatever reason Gallagher doesn't become available, might Gigwise respectfully suggest Peter Hook, Azealia Banks or Rufus Wainwright take up residency? Am sure at least one of these three would appreciate a strong G&T with Stephanie and Dominic Parker.
Noel Gallagher is currently in the studio working on the follow up to 2011's Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
Recently it was announced that XFM will hosting an exclusive panel discussion and Q+A with Gallagher, alongside music industry insiders such as Manic Street Preachers' Nicky Wire, in aid of Global's Make Some Noise.
The event, aptly named An Evening With Noel Gallagher, will "delve into Noel's life ins music" with a 90-minute discussion and Q+A session on 3 November in front of an audience of just 120 people.
Gallagher will be joined by Nicky Wire, former Creation Records boss Alan McGee, and Shorltist's deputy editor Hamish McBain.
Speaking about the event, Gallagher said: "Having rarely stopped blowing my own trumpet since April '94, it'll come as no surprise I jumped at the chance to let the people catch me at it again, so to speak, while at the same time raising a few bob for the kids. It'll be a pleasure."
All profits from ticket sales will go towards Global's Make Some Noise, which was established this year to help disadvantaged children and yoing people across the UK. Tickets will cost between £40 and £100 and are now on sale.
