Gig-goers beware: 48-hour tube strike planned for next week

If you're planning on going to a gig next week, you might need to spend a little extra time planning your journey - tube workers are planning another strike next week.

The strike will last 48 hours, and is once again in protest over "a range of issues that impact on our members jobs, their pay and working conditions and the safety of the services that they provide to the travelling public."

The RMT union has asked its members not to work between 9pm on Tuesday 14 October and 9pm on Thursday 16 October.

It's currently unclear which lines will be most affected by the strike, and whether it will cause significant delays, but if you're going to see Nick Mulvey at Shepherd's Bush Empire , Kid Ink at Koko or The Neighbourhood at The Forum next week, plan your journey carefully.

Don't panic too much though - strikes have been called off in the past. In May, for example, last-ditch talks led to the cancellation of a three-day strike just hours before it was due to start.
