After a whole lot of teasing, Foo Fighters’ epic eighth studio album is finally here to listen in full.

Sonic Highways features eight songs recorded with special guests at eight iconic studios in eight different U.S. cities. The recording process has been detailed on their recent documentary series (currently airing on the BBC) with each episode detailing the recording process behind each track.

If the recording process sounds exhausting at this point, just remember: the album was recorded with two 800lbs 24-track analogue tape machines that the band lugged along with them throughout the United States to the eight different locations. To stream the album, visit here.

Recently, the iconic rock band spoke to Gigwise about their fans in the UK, with guitarist Chris Shiflett saying: “I'm not trying to be a suck-up here, but without a doubt it's in the UK. Crowds are just different here. It must come out of football culture because the sing-alongs at every gig start before you even get the stage and then well after you've left. Crowds are great everywhere, but the UK is a real specific strain of wild, vocal fan.”

Foo Fighters release Sonic Highways on 10 November. To check out our track-by-track guide to their most ambitious album to date, click here.
