The lead singer of The Cranberries has been arrested after reportedly assaulting an air hostess on a flight from the United States to Ireland.
Dolores O'Riordan allegedly attacked the steward on a flight from New York to Shannon, County Clare this morning (10 November), with the injured air hostess taken to hospital after the flight landed at 5:30am.
The cause of the incident is yet to be revealed, however according to the BBC a woman in her 40's believed to be O'Riordan was arrested this morning and is currently being interviewed at Shannon Garda police station.
A policeman was also assaulted when trying to take what is thought to be the singer off the flight, with the officer receiving treatment for minor injuries in a different hospital close to the airport.
No statement has been made from spokespeople for The Cranberries, or O'Riordan, more details are expected to surface soon.
The Cranberries have sold over 40 million albums over their career.
