Jennifer Lawrence performs a track recorded by The Lumineers in the new Hunger Games installment: Mockingjay Pt. 1.
The Lumineers recorded a melody for 'The Hanging Tree' the song that appears in the book and that director, David Lawrence, wanted included in the film.
The director told the Radio Times that Jennifer Lawrence: "was horrified to sing, she cried a little bit in the morning she had to sing."
"But she did it and she did it all day - and she hated me for making her do it all day - but she did and it's great. She'll probably never really understand it because she's so sensitive about the singing."
The Lumineers are currently on tour in South America. The band posted an update from the studio in September, writing: "Well folks, we are back in the studio, chippin away at some new ideas. It's been one hell of a ride so far and we are excited to be writing again. Thanks, and stay tuned..." Based out of Denver, the band released their self-titled debut album in 2011 and have built up a devout following on the roots revival circuit.
The film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1 arrives in cinemas on 20 November.
