Bids for Mac DeMarco's old trainers have now reached over $11,000 on eBay.
DeMarco's red autographed size 10 Vans have now reached $11,201 on the site with five days still left in the auction. All the proceeds go to the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, a non-profit New York organisation for young musicians between 8-18.
DeMarco posted this message with the auction: "I’m selling an old pair of my shoes. I’ve John Hancocked the left shoe. Will anyone buy an old stinky pair of shoes? I don’t know. lets wait and see. I’ll probably throw some other crap in the box before shipping it, I dunno what. If you’re one of those kids who tried to take them off my feet while I was crowd surfing at some point this year, nice try jackass. But hey, here’s another opportunity for you to have them."
DeMarco also lists the concerts he wore the shoes including his date at the London Forum in November and includes a suitably surreal Q&A (sample query: 'Will you except human seamen? [sic]' 'Really don't think rock camp for girls 8-18 need any semen.')
Mac DeMarco released his second studio album Salad Days in April.
