Frank Turner’s sixth LP is due out later this year, and the prolific singer-songwriter has chatted to NME all about it.
Commenting on the first song to be heard off the album, ‘Get Better’, Turner said: “It seems like an appropriate concerto. Stylistically, lyrically, it's in the zone of the new record. I'm not saying every song sounds like it, but it conveys the general message of the new record. It's a record about pulling yourself up and dusting yourself down, and about having a shit year and getting through it, and resolving to not surrender."

When talking about the rest of the album’s sound, Turner shared: “'m really happy with the production... I knew I wanted it to be a live, raw record. The missing piece of the puzzle was [producer] Butch Walker.” Interestingly, the record was recorded in just nine days at the end of last year. The record is expected to be slightly different to Turner’s past work as he has said he plays electric guitar on more than half of the album.
The as-yet untitled album is due out later this year, but fans of Turner can get excited for something to be released soon: his book. ‘The Road Beneath My Feet’ is set to be released later this month and is an incredible diary of his tours.
In order to promote the book Turner will be chatting with fans and speaking on stage with journalist Ian Winwood. He will also perform solo and sign copies of the book. For more information and tickets, visit here.
