Who could be the 'arena act' planning a surprise performance?
Foo Fighters: Their new album has been coming for what feels like an age, but all we know is that it's finished and that the debut single will be released alongside their new HBO series. The band are set to headline London's Invictus Games in September, and a surprise set at Reading and Leeds, a festival they first appeared at in 1995 and often hail as their favourite on Earth, could be the perfect warm-up.

In an interview with XFM, Reading and Leeds festival booker Jon McIldowie let slip a little more than he should have done - there's going to be at least one surprise set from an 'arena act'. Cue intense, excited speculation, to which we are about to add.
There are a number of massive acts that could perform surprise sets at this year's festival, and to help with the impossible task of narrowing it down, we've looked at bands' schedules and new album status, and picked our predictions of the most likely surprise acts.
Sure, we could just wait a few weeks and find out that way, but where's the fun in that?
