Bon Iver's Juston Vernon is curating a new music festival in his hometown of Eau Claire in Wisconsin.
While fans eagerly await the follow-up to Bon Iver's self-titled 2011 album, it seems Vernon has his sights firmly on the festival circuit for the time being. According to The Current, the aptly named Eaux Claires Music and Arts Festival will place on July 17 and 18 of next year and take place at Eau Claire's Foster Farm.
Featuring three stages, including one tented stage with a 6,000 person capacity, the festival organisers are anticipating up to 25,000 people attending the event per day.
Bob McCoy, president and CEO of the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce, recently told local television station WEAU, that the event has the potential to bring “eight or nine million dollars” of tourism money into the area.
“It’s a very major economic impact,” McCoy said. “Looking at what Justin wants to do, and having somebody like that, you can look around for a long time trying to find somebody that will bring that kind of venue and that kind of magnitude into the community, and it falls in your lap, it’s really kind of cool and he’s a pretty awesome guy".
The line-up is being kept quiet for now but given how many high-profile collaborations Vernon has made this year, it's not unreasonable to suggest Bon Iver, Polica or even Kanye West could perform at the event.
