The end of the 2015 is drawing near, and with the coming of the new year comes the act of looking ahead to a new great bright hope. Lists upon lists of 'ones to watch' will be thrust upon you, but the truth is that there's only one word you need - and what a word it is: Slutface.
Watch Slutface perform 'Shave My Head' in the Gigwise Office Sessions below
We spent a pretty rowdy weekend with our favourite new Norwegian exports the last time they were in town. It seemed pretty rude to not have them swing by the office to perform for us. On stage, they're an explosion of raw youthful exuberance, riot-grrrl bravado and general don't-give-a-fuckery. But when they strip it all back to acoustic, you can almost taste their knack of a real good tune - and socially conscious lyrics about what it is to be young.
The music speaks for itself, but to get it out of the way in case you were wondering, here's the mundane question about where their name from answered for the curious among you.
"We want you to think about female sexuality and what it means to be a 'slut', the way we portray women in music and in popular culture," singer Haley Shea tells Gigwise. "We're really not dicks - we just want you to think about women more than you do."
