Just when you thought there couldn't be anymore Sam Smith news, the songwriter-singer has only gone and dropped another new song titled 'Drowning Shadows'. Check it out below.
Since Adele overshadowed the excitement surrounding Smith's contribution to Spectre, 'Writing's On The Wall', dropping a track yesterday was the perfect call to get eyes back on the London superstar.
We're sure the pop world isn't that petite, but it could be explanation for why Sam Smith would release a track from the cutting room floor at this point in time. 'Drowning Shadows' was initially intended to make the tracklist for Smith's debut album but was stunted by production issues. However, look forward to hearing the finished version of the track on the release of Smith's deluxe edition of his debut album due for a 6 November release.
The track was premiered yesterday afternoon on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show as well as an interview with the man with the golden voice.

Speaking about the track, Smith said: "I wanted to remind everyone where I come from as a songwriter and what my intent was when I was writing this album". He also described the tune as "the saddest song I’ve ever written and probably the least radio-friendly song I’ve ever written". Which, by Sam Smith's standards, is hardly a divisive post-metal onslaught - it's still rife in lush strings and soul-lurching vocal performances.
Sam Smith released his James Bond theme song, 'Writing's On The Wall' back in September but no news yet of a follow up album.
