Laura Marling is set to support Neil Young on his forthcoming UK and Ireland arena tour dates. Get ticket details below.
Back in June, Young released his thirty-sixth album, The Monsanto Years - a concept album criticising agribusiness Monsanto (a hugely overdone theme, obviously), which was accompanied by a film documenting the recording process.
In June, he's taking that album - and the aforementioned hit-filled discography - on tour, with backing band featuring Lukas Nelson and Promise Of The Real.
It's now been revealed that Laura Marling - who released her brilliant fifth album, Short Movie, last year - will open for him on the tour. The musician has a long history with Young - she learned to play the guitar by playing along to 'The Needle And The Damage Done' at six-years-old.
She also supported him for a handful of shows back in 2012, telling For Folk's Sake, "I was so nervous and so completely dazed by the whole thing that I don’t remember that much. I know after the last gig my band went in to see him, and he was very sweet and then I came in and just stood there gobsmacked for about five minutes then was wheeled out of the room." Let's hope she'll feel a little more calm and collected this time round.
