Despite being one of the biggest musicians on the planet, Adele has somehow maintained a reputation for being resolutely down to earth. Well, until now perhaps.

According to staff at the Soho Farmhouse hotel, the singer was staying with her family when she phoned room service at 11pm to order pizza. Though the hotel has “the best ovens” (whatever that means), she instead “insisted that staff fetch the pizza from her local company. A member of staff drove all the way to London and came back with it.”

Unfortunately, when the staff member got back from the 140-mile trip it was 3am, and she was asleep. “It was still in the box when the maid came the next morning,” says a source for The Sun. Hopefully she had pizza for breakfast at least.

A spokesperson for Adele refused to comment.

Meanwhile, Adele headlined Glastonbury Festival last month. See our full report here.
