One Direction singer Liam Payne has apologised for a recent video which showed bandmate Zayn Malik smoking a spliff while on tour.
The furore started last week after a video - filmed by Louis Tomlinson - showed him and Zayn Malik smoking a spliff in Peru. "That's just Zayn warming up before the show," he says in the video, “One very, very important factor to Zayn's warm-up, of course, is Mary J herself."
Many fans were disappointed and critics slammed the boyband for setting a poor example to fans. However, the article which prompted Payne to apologise on behalf of his bandmates was penned by writer Jan Moir for The Daily Mail which reads: "like so many before them, they take fame for granted, raking in the cash and feeling it will never end". To which Liam Payne chose to respond.
