Fans of comedian Rik Mayall, who died yesterday, are campaigning to get his 2010 World Cup song to No.1 in the UK singles chart.

Mayall first released the song, in which he recreated a speech from William Shakespeare's Henry V, back in 2010.

One of the campaign's more high-profile supporters is Jon Morter, who was behind the campaign which got Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name' to Christmas No.1 in 2009.

The Facebook campaign has already gained over 5,000 likes since it was set up yesterday.

Speaking of the song at the time, Mayall said: "Football chants are one of the great traditions of following football, and Shakespeare is also part of our national heritage. It seemed only natural that they should go together."
