Morrissey has blamed his support act for the cancellation of his US tour after he fell ill, accusing singer Kristeen Young of giving him a "horrendous cold". She denies this accusation, and has accused The Smiths star of lying.
After terminating the remainder of his US dates, citing a "respiratory infection" as the reason for cancelling, Morrissey has now posted a longer explanation on his blog. The former Smiths frontman claims his support act for the dates, Kristeen Young, didn't tell him she had a "horrendous cold" which was then passed onto Morrissey.
The bug led to Morrissey allegedly being hospitalised in Miami for an "acute fever", and caused him to collapse after his Boston show. Young was then asked to leave the tour until she was better, but according to Morrissey's camp she pulled out of the tour entirely.

Young has now hit back at Morrissey's allegations in a since-deleted Facebook post, claiming the "horrendous cold" was actually an allergy attack. "I am very sorry Morrissey is not feeling well," she adds. "But I will not tolerate these lies...especially about my health."
The shows were in support of Morrissey's forthcoming album, World Peace Is None of Your Business, which is due for release July 15.
