Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks director David Lynch came very close to directing the video to Kanye West's hit 'Blood on The Leaves', which Lynch describes as 'so powerful but at the same time so beautiful'.
Lynch was approached to direct the video, a task he relished giving his love of the track. Kanye visited Lynch at his house to discuss ideas, however Lynch could not think of anything he deemed worthy of the song and so the collaboration was not to be.
Speaking to The Daily Beast, Lynch said: “'Blood on the Leaves' is one of my favorite songs. It’s great. He’s just ridin’ the wave and not takin’ no for an answer. We almost worked together, but I never got the ideas. I feel I let him down a little bit."
He added: "I was going to do the music video for “Blood on the Leaves,” but it never happened. I didn’t come up with any ideas that I thought he would like."
A tribute gig to David Lynch recently took place at the Barbican and featured acts such as Villagers, Savages and Stealing Sheep.
