The ongoing Sony hacking debacle has revealed that a Kanye West film project is on the way.
In a leaked email, West's creative assistant Elon Rutberg pitches to Sony Pictures Entertainment's co-chairman Amy Pascal. A quick warning, the email is jammed with eye-rolling jargon like "immersive cinema experience".
“I supervise all of Kanye’s film and media projects, and we have a major film project coming up that involves both cinematic and technological innovation, so I naturally thought Sony and wanted to reach out,” Rutberg writes. “We premiered a multi-screen cinema experience to great response at Cannes 2012, and are looking to take the storytelling to the next level with a feature length film, shot for an immersive cinema experience.”
It is unclear as to whether the project relates to the long rumoured Hype Williams directed Yeezus film.
Another leaked email also reveals that Kanye will feature in Jonathon Levine's upcoming Christmas Eve movie, that also stars Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
James Waever the film's producer wrote: “We’ll have an XMAS tease for 2015. We have a specific idea to attach to The Interview that will crush. Seth, Joe, and [Anthony] Mackie reenacting the scene from Big on the floor piano at FAO Schwartz with Kanye West. It’s fucking awesome.”
