Two copies of some of Jack White's rarest records have been found hidden in pieces of furniture.
One of the strangest/most Willy Wonka like moments in Jack White's origin story is how in 2004, he and friend Brian Muldoon recorded tracks and hid the vinyl in pieces of furniture.
The vinyl - complete with artwork by Detroit artist Gordon Newton and the title 'Your Furniture Was Always Dead I Was Just Afraid To Tell You' - had not been found until two separate copies surfaced this week.
Third Man Records have announced that two different copies of the second single by the Upholsterers have been located. Currently there appear to be no plans to mark the discovery, although it is well worth checking out White's new cardboard Third-D device to prove he has lost none of his sense of record industry mischief over the past decade.
The Upholsterers released their debut single 'Makers of High Grade Suites' on label Sympathy for the Record Industry. Brian Muldoon went on to form The Muldoons with his two sons, releasing their debut album on Third Man in June 2007.
Jack White's Lazaretto was recently declared the best selling vinyl album of 2014 with over 75,000 copies sold. White also recently completed a massive UK tour. Read our full review here.
