The Maccabees have spoken out about the sound and progress of their new album - stating that it's 'stripped back' and 'self-assured'.
The indie heroes have not released an album since 2012's Given To The Wild, and were expected to release their fourth LP ealier this year.
Speaking to NME, the band said that they were well aware of the anticipation around it - revealing that they've recorded 10 tracks and will finish two more in January.
"It's a year and a half late!", said Felix White, before Orlando Weeks continued: "But we're getting there and it will be done soon".
Weeks added: "It feels more self-assured. I feel confident in it - I feel confident singing it. I feel like it's got a really nice mix of all of our different inputs, and that's the thing that takes us longest to get our heads around, trying to accommodate all of those different tastes."
The band have just finished a tour with Kasabian, and are expected to fill some pretty big festival slots in 2015.
