Kendrick Lamar has been busy readying the follow-up to 2012’s critically acclaimed album ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. city, but fans can now be assured that the release is around the corner.
Lamar said to Billboard that “the end is in sight” for finishing the album and revealed that he intent on transcending what he refers to as the “sport” of rap: “I pride myself on writing now rather than rapping. My passion is bringing storylines around and constructing a full body of work, rather than just a 16-bar verse.”

The Compton rapper spoke about several hard-hitting topics such as his background as well as Iggy Azalea. Lamar defended the ‘Fancy’ popstar and said: “She’s doing her thing. Let her. People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing, continue to rock it, because obviously God wants you here.”
Harlem rapper Azealia Banks was upset by Lamar’s comments and expressed her feelings towards him.
