Savages have been performing new material from their second album during a nine-show NYC residency.

The UK-based band released their debut album, Silence Yourself, in 2013. 2014 was a quiet year on the new music front, but they've kicked off this year by treating US fans to a barrage of new music, live.

Savages began their NYC residency at Brooklyn's Baby's All Right, and lead singer Jehnny Beth told the crowd, "We're not quite finished writing our new album, so we thought we'd come here and try some things. We'll work it out together." The band then kicked off their set with five new songs.

As Brooklyn Vegan (most hipster website name of all time?) reports, the only time Jehnny Beth had to pull out a lyric sheet to sing from was on new track 'Adore', which she dedicated to the victimes of the Charlie Hebdo shooting in Paris.

The band continued their NYC residency by playing different live songs each night. Their residency continues this week.
