Having been awarded the Critics' Choice at the Brit Awards and announced to headline his first festival, James Bay's debut album topped the chart.
As Official Charts reports, the sales figures of over 64,000 copies of Chaos and the Calm was enough to see him beat Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour into second place. Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran remain No.2 and No.3 respectively, while Seasick Steve's stripped back Sonic Soul Sufer enters at No.4. Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly falls to complete the top five.
In the rest of the chart, Laura Marling'S Short Movie enters at No.7 while The Cribs came in at No.9.
