A decade after The College Dropout...

It's been a decade since Kanye West, fresh from car crash that nearly killed him, released his seminal debut, The College Dropout.
In ten years, we've seen West go from a self proclaimed "first nigga with a Benz and a backpack" to a rap heavyweight, one of the biggest artists on the planet and much to his disgust, a celebrity, albeit a controversial one.
Seven excellent albums later, here we are in 2014. Kanye is still promoting Yeezus, probably his most jarring effort since his debut - a decidedly radio un-friendly compilation of mind-bending industrial electro, acid house and splintering techno. We definitely wouldn't have seen this coming when were busy bumping 'All Falls Down' 20 times a day in 2004.
Whatever your thoughts on Kanye, the fact he's an incredibly important artist is indisputable. He's also prolific, creative, progressive and a true talent. Here are 10 reasons, for 10 years, why Kanye is still one of the most important artists out there.
